🎮 Step 2: Create a Minecraft Instance
An instance is like a separate Minecraft installation where you can add mods.
Create New Instance
- Open the Modrinth App
- Click "Create Profile" or the "+" button
- Select Minecraft version 1.21
- Select Fabric as the mod loader
- Give your instance a name (e.g., "My Modded Minecraft")
- Click "Create"

🔧 Step 3: Install Fabric API & Sodium
These are essential mods that most other mods require. Fabric API is a library, and Sodium dramatically improves performance.
Install Fabric API
- In Modrinth App, select your instance
- Click on the "Browse" or "Add Content" button
- Search for "Fabric API"
- Click "Install" on the Fabric API mod
- Wait for it to download and install

- In the same Browse section, search for "Sodium"
- Click "Install" on the Sodium mod
- Wait for it to download and install

📥 Step 4: Add More Mods from Ensis Hub
Now you can add any mods you want from Ensis Hub!
Method 1: Install Directly in Modrinth App (Easiest)
- In Modrinth App, click "Browse" or "Add Content"
- Search for any mod you found on Ensis Hub
- Click "Install"
- The mod is automatically added to your instance!
Method 2: Download from Ensis Hub & Upload to Modrinth
- Browse mods on Ensis Hub
- Click on a mod to view its details
- Click "Download from Modrinth"
- Save the
.jarfile to your computer - In Modrinth App, select your instance
- Click "Add Content" → "From File"
- Select the downloaded
.jarfile - The mod is now installed!
💡 Pro Tip: You can also drag and drop
.jar files directly into the Modrinth App window!
✅ Step 5: Launch & Verify
Launch Your Modded Minecraft
- In Modrinth App, select your instance
- Click the "Play" button
- Wait for Minecraft to launch
- On the main menu, click "Mods" (added by Mod Menu)
- You should see all your installed mods listed!
Verify Mods Are Working
- Fabric API: Should appear in the mods list
- Sodium: You'll notice much better FPS!
- Other mods: Check the mods list to confirm they loaded
💡 Tip: If you don't see a "Mods" button, install Mod Menu from Modrinth App to view your mods!
🚨 Troubleshooting
Game Crashes on Launch
- Check mod compatibility: Make sure all mods are for Minecraft 1.21 and Fabric
- Install Fabric API: Most mods require it - install it first!
- Check dependencies: Some mods require other mods to work (check mod pages)
- Remove conflicting mods: Some mods don't work together - try removing mods one by one
- Update Java: Make sure you have Java 21 or newer installed
Mods Not Loading in Modrinth App
- Check instance version: Make sure your instance is set to Minecraft 1.21
- Verify Fabric loader: Ensure Fabric is selected as the mod loader
